SCCA for daaaaaaays. Coil overs, LSD, upgraded sway bars, roll hoop, the works. 1990 with 92,500 miles. It’s now my best friend’s car, but I will be cashing in MANY favors to take it out with him once in awhile.
Spring has sprung! Now if this is taken out to some autocrosses, a Jalopnik bump couldn’t hurt... ;)

Super nice example. Tell him to look up short nose crank issues if he doesn’t intimately know the Miata world. The early engines can have issues. it’s not the end of the world as long as you maintain it and pay attention to the crank pulley.

Our friend who advised and inspected the car is a NASA Spec Miata driver, and the buyer (my friend) has crewed for that car a few times, sp there’s definitely knowledge, but I’ll be sure to pass it along anyway, thank you!

Nice! It looks to be STR-prepared with those sort of mods. Can you confirm if the LSD is a Torsen model, the sometimes self-destructing Fuji, or the VLSD? LSD or Fuji = STR, VLSD = STS.
From one autocrossing Miata owner to another, start out stock so you can determine what and how you want to modify your Miata to your tastes. Also, the more you mod it, the faster the opposing cars in the classes get as you go further and further away from stock class.
